Bob: With your amp in standby or turned off, the internal tuner of the pro can be used to tune the G5RV antenna provided its SWR is 3:1 or below to begin with, especially on the lower bands. Once the amp is on line with an external antenna tuner, you do not need to use your internal tuner unless you are using one of the very early GLA-1000 amps that did not have  tuned input circuits.
