I searched eBay for AD-56 adaptor (for the BC-79 OR the
BC-119N charger) and found one listed for $12.95 plus
$6.50 shipping.

That will charge BP-171/172/173/180 batteries according
to the listing.

The W-32A also uses the BP-173 and I bought two BP-173x
packs for my 32As from Batteries America. This is rated at
1450 mA which is considerably higher than BP-173.

Check www.batteriesamerica.com for more info.

The "cup" for the IC-W32A is AD-51 and it will charge
the radio OR the batteries separately. If you can't find
the AD-56, you could probably use the AD-51 to charge
the battery pack by itself (off the radio) even if you can't
charge the radio and pack while together.

I have an IC-T7A handheld with the BP-173 9.6 volt nicad. The manual says
the Icom BC-79 charger with AD-56 adaptor is required to use as a desktop
charger for that battery. But apparently all have been discontinued by
Icom. So I am looking for a used charger that works well, or a used BC-79
with the cup adaptor. Also I think I may need a replacement BP-173 battery
now, this one won't hold a good charge - what is a good clone substitute to
use? Any recommendations? Thanks all, Jim N4BE
