[ICOM] 706 And Tigertronics?

Guys,
 
I have a friend (an elderly ham) who's asked me to set up his newly acquired
Tigertronics SL1+ to his Icom 706 (classic) so he can do digital modes.
 
He purchased it with the accessory "kit" for a 706 MkIIG.
 
The question concerns the accessory kit - it comes with a 13 pin (back of
706) to modular 8 pin (back of SL1+) that "should" supply power (8v 10ma on
pin 1) as well as handling PTT and audio both ways.  However, the SL1+
manual says to confirm this pin out from the owner's manual for the radio.
The problem is Bill doesn't have the manual for the 706, just the one for
his other (mobile) radio - the MkIIG that's in his car.

Can anyone confirm that the pinouts are the same?  I can always go download
the manual, but before I go on the "hunting expedition" I thought I'd ask
the experts
