How about just NOT holding the HT up against your face? It seems that would solve your
problem. Not to mention the fact  that it is very poor operating practice anyway.
Usually in front of your face, just off to the side of center, and about 2-3 inches away
from your mouth - that's the proper position for HT use. Holding it flat against your
cheek is akin to using a cellphone, not a handheld transceiver.
