Jim,
Now what I described on a quick QSO like your had no affect since in the
tuner's internal memory is that approximate frequency, therefore the tuner
was ready to go. There is an "amp-protect" circuit that I assume helps in
protecting its own self destruction.
Anyway it is a complicated piece of equipment that I do like.
