[ICOM] IC-751A IF Shift Control

Good Day All,

I recall reading someplace eons ago that there is a (simple?) mod which can
be made to the 751A, converting the IF "...SHIFT" control, into an IF
"...WIDTH" control...

Is anyone on this list familiar with that change...? Is it an extensive
one...? Is it even worthwhile undertaking it...?

My FT-980 transceiver has IF width control, & I liked it on that particular
rig...but with tightest CW filter in place, there wasn't a LOT of room to
manoeuver in, with that width control & its incidious centre detente!.

Many thanks in advance...
