For whatever it might be worth:
The settings in my '706 MK II G are as follows:
Menu selection Q2 Mic Gain 5
Menu selection Q3 VOX Delay 1.0
Menu selection Q4 VOX Gain 5
Menu selection Q5 ANTI VOX 10
The small pots on the right side of the radio are both at aprox. the 10:00
o'clock position when facing the pot. These settings are used on both HF
(mostly 80 through 10 meters) and 6 meters into an inverted V hung in trees
and for VHF/UHF fed into an MFJ dual-band base antenna. The feed point on
the HF antenna is more than 35 feet high. The feed point for the VHF/UHF
antenna is about 15 feet high. All contact reports on every band used has
been good. I am running at reduced power on both sides of the radio (80
watts on HF, 25 watts VHF, and 10 UHF). The information for finding the "Q"
series menus is in the owner's manual. Enjoy the radio, it is a very good
one.
