I was looking thru the old posts on video output for the pro series.
I just bought a proIII in Dayton and while wandering around saw a few
rigs with external screens. Two of them being the 7000 and the 7800. I
thought ,wow, neat idea and at 65 would sure help the old eye site. I
understand that the video in the pro is controlled by the main
processor some way? Iam surely not a video engineer,so the total
process is foreign to me. The old posts also said the it would take a
fantastic amount of hacking to break out a signal.
The pro has a LCD screen ,much like my computer. I understand that in
the end all LCD monitors are pretty much driven the same way to produce
a picture. My question is this. If the video signal generated with in
the pro,no matter how or controlled by what ever, some where has to end
up the same type of feed to the LCD, as any other LCD panel? iF MY
LOGIC HOLDS WATER, it would seem to me at that point a break out should
be possible? I wanted to see how they did the video out on the 7000,but
can't find any detailed info yet.
I may be way off first base with my thinking, video circuit logic is
not one of my strong points. Maybe someone in the group could explain
the finer points of why or why not the video break out could be done.
Aside from the above, after 2 days with the proIII I understand now
what everybody has been raving about the III. Video or not the only way
this rig will leave the shack is if a 7800 kicks the thing out. fat
chance of that happening.
thanks to all for reading my post.
