I ran the 746 PRO along with a TS-2000 on two meters a few years
ago. The 746 PRO was slightly better on weak signal performance
than the 2000 (tested by switching back and forth between the rigs
to the same antenna) although both did a pretty good job for me on
CW and SSB. Several of our group ran the 2000's and were very
happy with their choice. I was using a single 13B2 up about 28' in
a fairly good location just north of Kansas City and could maintain
reliable SSB comm any night with several other stations down south
in the Joplin, MO general area (140-150 miles). My best DX with the
746 PRO/13B2 was FN10 & FN20 (PA & NJ) during a brief opening
back on May 25, 2003 (g)

I can't comment on intermod. I never ran it mobile so was never close
to any other serious radio source. Never had any problems during
crowded band conditions with either of the above radios separating
desired stations from the pile ups (g)

Good luck on your choice!
