RE: the mods at mods.dk. The modification for the IC-756 Pro II to
eliminate the 6-meter oscillation was formerly posted at
http://www.mods.dk/view.php?ArticleId=2905 This URL no longer works, and
when I went back to www.mods.dk today the site seems entirely different and
I cannot find the article. The ICOM modifications section that formerly had
lots of mods now has only a couple. Perhaps someone else can figure out how
to find it and post the new URL.

The modification consists of putting a micro size reed relay on the top side
of the control board adjacent to J2, the RFRX. The relay's N.O. contacts go
directly from J2 to the chassis. The +12 volts to operate the relay is
obtained from the antenna relay +12 TX+12. When the radio goes on transmit
the added relay shorts RFRX directly to ground and completely eliminates any
possibility of any oscillation. I have a print-out of the Mods.dk article,
but the print area extends out to the right past the edge of the paper so
part is lost. It does have the picture of the Control Board showing J2 and
where to locate the relay. I can scan it and email to anyone who wants a
copy - such as it is.
