[ICOM] Icom gear for sale

I believe the R-71 had an accessory that would announce the time.  Without 
it, you could put frequencies in the memory and click around - but there are 
a lot of memories and no where of starting with "number one" so you could 
index things.

I never had the announciator accessory but I believe it just announced the 
frequency.  You would have to memorize where the different modes - AM, FM, 
USB, LSB, CW, RTTY were as you'd have no confirmation given by the voice.

The radio has an Icom CI-V Computer port, so you could control it by buying 
a interface (I bought a very inexpensive one made by a ham) and hooking it 
up to a laptop.

If you did this, you could run "Window Eyes" or Linux and use the reader 
software to read functions on the screen - unless the software you were 
using used pictures instead of text.  I don't know of a control program that 
will work well.

Other than that, the radio is simple enough to memorize buttons.  I'd only 
have problem with finding a "index" for tuning - but the frequency speak out 
accessory would do that.
