Do you mean cross-band repeat? I don't think I've ever seen any HAM
radio that offers this "out-of-the-box". Nor do I think I've ever seen
any "official" spec sheet advertise cross-band repeat for any radio.
However, as we all know, many dual-band radios that have true
dual-receive capabilities are able to do cross-band repeat after some
keyboard "mod" - sometimes (rarely) it's a hardware mod. I'm sure it'll
be the same for the ID-91 (aka a keyboard mod).
If you mean "duplex" operation...good question. As the radio isn't
officially for sale yet, we'll just have to wait for the official specs
to come out.
For me, dual in-band receive (V/V, U/U) is more important as I can keep
one receiver on one freq while the other receiver scans the rest. I
spend most of my time on 440 and keep the "left" rcvr of my W32A on my
favorite repeater while the "right" scans the rest. Yes, I know about
the priority mode, but sometimes you miss a short call if you've got a
lot of freq's programmed in (or the "priority" freq is simplex).

Apparently it is missing one of the prime features of the IC-W32A,
however; the ability to receive on one band while transmitting on the
other.

Looks pretty neat. Of course all new accessories,
batteries, etc. will be required.

AS posted by NE0P last week, check:

This is probably the replacement for the W32A. It's been a *LONG*
time
comming...my W32A is ancient compared to the Kenwood F6A. I rememer
a
few years ago when the dropped the W32A without a replacement and
there
was a *HUGE* uproar from ICOM users. At least this time, there's a
replacement...hopefully it'll be as trusty as the W32A is/was.
