Deviation is controlled in sofware on the IC-2720H

If you read the archives of the IC-2720 reflector

... you will see a rather complete discussion on how to use the CS-2720
programming software to adjust it..

As described in ICOM Tech Note #925, the programming process is quite
complex and not to be attempted by the unsophisticated as you will likely
destroy the radio settings. ICOM recommends that you send it back to the
factory for adjustment

One solution to try first is to look at the mike hole in the microphone. It
is quite small and over time the membrane moves and covers it decreasing
audio.. It does not take a lot of effort to enlarge the hole.

Subject: [ICOM] Icom 2720 deviation adjustment

Does anyone know how to increase the deviation on a 2720? My audio
is awfully weak, and I can't find a deviation control on the unit.

No big deal, but I suspect that the radio will remain in my "useless" pile
if
there isn't a simple fix. Too bad -- it's a nice radio
