[ICOM] CI-V question

Set rx to 440 or 144, press "display", rotate "m-chan & shift" to 
repeater tone. Select freq by turning tuning dial. Press "display"
to exit.
Now
Press "menu" to "M4" press "Tone" indicator will appear on screen.
(don't forget to press "DUP" to determine + or - also)

What does CI-V have to do with it???
