My YL, Nancy W1NCY, has an IC-718 that we take on vacation. I was
tired of 2.4 kHz CW reception so I decided to tighten up a bit. It was a
hard decision between 1.9 kHz and 4/500 Hz, but I'm glad I went with the
narrow one. I soldered in an Inrad 400 Hz filter and am very happy with it.
BTW, the Inrad page, http://www.qth.com/inrad/, indicates that it is a
"drop in", but the holes in mine weren't plated through and I didn't
think it would make good contact, or even stay in place, without being
soldered.
BTW2, I had a bit of tbl getting solder to flow on the PC board and
suggest you hit the pads on the board with a bit of emory cloth before
you put the filter in.
