Alex,

Did you make sure the connection to the power supply are nice and tight?  I once had a GE MVP that went to 1/2 power and found that even  good finger tight binding posts were not tight enough. I was getting a voltage drop due to the high resistence connection.

I installed new ring eye connectors, soldered them after crimping and used a pair of pliers to tighten the binding posts. The power was restored to full output after.
