Yes John,It has many of the same features as the 706.But,more adjustable 
nb.No dsp,But sometimes the dsp on the 706 is not all that good.With the rf 
gain and lower rf gain adj with the nb you can achieve almost results as 
good as dsp.I had the 738(same rig,no 6 mtrs) and it was good.I compared it 
at that time to a kw 940s.Better rejection.I notice associated radio has a 
used 736 on thier website.The 736,8 was a predecessor to the 775.You don't 
have the problems with the caps you had with the 751/751a.It is a good 
rig.100 watts both bands etc..The lcd is a lot like the 775..I believe you 
would like it better than the 706.But,that is in the eye's of the op,hi 
hi..I ran the 706 in the arrl vhf test saturday.Then ran a antenna extension 
to the pro3.Did I see a lot of difference,NO.Just larger knobs made it
