[ICOM] Preamp question

Hi Clete,

I also recall the DB-23 preselector. Racal also made a number of outboard
active preselectors for use with their HF receivers. One design was fitted
with motor-driven air-variable tuning capacitors.

A preselector is a tuneable multi-stage RF bandpass filter, and may be
active (with integrated RF amplification). A preamplifier is a simple RF
amplifier, generally with tuned input and output networks (or broadband).

Cheers for now, 73,
