You shouldn't have to try a bunch of hex addresses. The important thing is
for the radio to be using the address that the program expects. Early
versions of WriteLog came preset expecting 48H for the 706. Then came the
706MKII (default 4E) and the 706MKIIG (default 58).
You get into the same thing with the PRO series.
Then later versions of WriteLog gave us the ability to set the hex address
of the radio in the ini file configuration. So I really think any of these
will work as long as the program and radio are set the same. WriteLog lets
you set the hex address - some other ham programs don't, so they might be
the limiting factor on which to choose. 73 - John, WA9ALS
