[ICOM] 761 problem

All of a sudden my IC-761 is not communicating the mode to my 
computer log (DXbase 2006).  Even if I make an SSB entry, it logs the 
QSO as CW and autofills the RST as 599 sent and received.  Otherwise, 
the radio talks to the computer and vice versa.  Anyone have a clue 
as to what's happening?  I know I'm gonna log someone and forget that 
it is not a CW QSO and a day later, I'll have forgotten which mode 
the QSO was on (except, thank goodness for the fact the correct 
frequency is logged).

It is more of a real inconvenience and probably is something simple.
