Don't ask me either... I had the fuses on the inside of the vehicle and watched the the cable burn till it got to the fuses.... Hard lesson to learn!

DO NOT rely on your mount or the coax
for a ground!!! Your negative lead MUST
run all the way to the battery, just as your
positive lead does. The negative lead also
MUST be fused for the safety of your rig.

since it's mounted it's 'probably' got a great ground...
but I have lost a gnd in a car install before,,,, just an idea....
