Having had a 775 sit beside the 756 Pro and a Mark V Field (with narrow SSB, CW and roofing filters):

(a) 775 and 756 Pro about even as I recall...eventually sold the 756 Pro

(b) 775 and Mark V Field ...the 775 hands down by a mile

guess the answer is I sold my first 775 and regretted it only to pick up late production run 775 about 18 months later. Both 775s use/used pair of SSB and CW filters.

Current station is 775 and 746.

By the way, I installed the INRAD roofing filter in the 775...significant improvement especially on 40m during contests.
