Good day, Martin.
I, like others here, are sad to learn of your problem.
Could you advise us as to what led to this situation?
Power supply or regulator overvoltage surge? Static
discharge?

Subject: [ICOM] Breaking IC706Mk2 maybe
I have just been informed that my IC706 Mk 2 is beyond economical repair
in that it needs a new main board. The UK importer advises that the cost
of this together with the associated other charges will be more than the
current market value of the radio. Therefore I am considering either
selling it as a whole for parts or breaking it into parts for individual
sale. Radio has DSP module and 1.9KHz ssb narrow filter.
What do you folks think regarding the most appropriate approach, I've
never slaughtered a radio before, and what sort of value might I realise
overall?
Many thanks for your thoughts at this time of my loss.
