I used a G5RV with my 746Pro and it did quite well.  Mine was oriented
facing NNE at 50 feet or so and worked well into Europe but not effective at
all to the west.  I even had a tough time working western states.

I switched to Radio Works 160 meter special - Carolina Windom and installed
at the same orientation.  I haven't found a dead spot yet and get great
reports on all bands.  Auto tuner works great on all bands 160 thru 6.
