Dick,

I did an A/B test of 775 vs. 756ProII. People say, on-the-air performance of
both ProII and Pro3 is almost the same. I could not prove it and just take
it for granted.

Very briefly, my test showed quite a similar performance in "daily"
conditions, though the 775 outperforms his brother in the overcrowded
contest environment, in both CW and SSB. It was just a "normal" 775. The
Inrad roofing filter modified one wins just hands down.

The 775's DAC is adjustable, so that you can set the AF bandwith the way
you
like in order to avoid the hollow digital sound specific to the 756 family.

The 775 gives you 200W.

The 775 lacks a bandscope (if you tried it once, you will always miss it
with radios which don't have one).

It's much easier to configure the 756s family for AFSK and related things
if
you want to use narrowband CW filters for RTTY reception.

That's just a few remarks. Hope it helps.

 73,

 Vladimir VE3IAE
