The AH4 does not have a memory so it has to Re-Tune each time you change
bands. or move to far in the same band depending on the band width of the
antenna.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-706IIG and AH-4 combo
Every summer I hook up my 706 with the AH-4 on my sailboat.
I need confirmation on something - I don't remember the system operating
this way:
I can press tune on a specific frequency - the AH-4 takes maybe 3 seconds to
tune and we are good to go.
If I move to another band, I do the same thing - all is well.
Now, if I move back to the original band/frequency, the tune light is out
and I have to retune.
If I set "Tune on PTT" to On, it initiates tune automatically.
I thought I remembered that I did not have to retune once it memorized the
setting for a given frequency.
Do I have something set wrong? Or did it always work this way?
Happy Birthday to the USA - have a good one everyone!
