[ICOM] PW-1

Well Fellow Hams here is another little interesting thing with the PW-1 and
its relationship with other rigs.

I have successfully used the Icom 746Pro with the PW-1 in Position 1 and a
FT-1000mp in Position 2.  On the FT, I use the 13.5v dc 200ma output from
the back of the rig to power up the antennas on the PW-1.  I was very happy.

Today I have received my new toy for 2006, a FT-1000mp Field.  Being very
similar is certain respects I use the same configuration for the PW-1
hookup.  The only subtle difference is the output is 13.8v dc 200ma.  The
PW-1 started up as normal but after 5 to 8 seconds it semi-shuts down with
nothing illuminated and meter needles at 3/4 scale.  Turning on the PW-1
takes everything back to normal and when later turned off is normal for
antenna usage until 5 to 8 seconds pass and the same funky result.

Switching positions provided the same result.  I also checked the voltage
output from the rig and it is rock steady at 13.8v dc without any
interruption and checked for over 10 minutes.  

I am hoping that Adam is reading this since he is one great source of
information.  Please Adam, don't hold it against me that I am using an FT.
Anyway, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
