John;
Being involved in Civil Air Patrol Communications (INWG/DC) is use my MIIG on non ham band HF. Until we had to change our radio standards I also used the VHF for CAP comm but have to use a second NTIA qualified VHF now. I rate the radio very high. I don't use 6 meters very much but that is just because of to many frequencies/bands. I have a Hi Sierra screwdriver side mounted to my receiver hitch for a sky hook. Works greate.

I am looking to collect some data (or actually educated guesses) for an article I am writing. By your best estimate, what percentage of Icom 706/MKII/MIIG owners use the HF and/or 6 meter portions of their radio on SSB/CW, but limit the 2 meter and 70cm side of the radio to VHF/UHF?
