Hi Stan,
Per Icom spec, the IC-7000 draws 1.3A on standby receive, as compared to
1.8A for the IC-706MkIIG.
The IC-7000 is a DSP-based radio, which is similar in many ways to the
IC-746Pro and the IC-756Pro series. It has continuously-variable IF filter
bandwidth (no filters to buy, ever), a dual tuneable notch filter inside the
AGC loop, adjustable noise reduction and a noise blanker with adjustable
threshold and width. The IC-7000 is a totally different class of radio.
