Hi Phil,

Actually, Ed reported a 6 dB increase in scope "grass" level when BAL was
set to 100%, as well as an increase in noise level at the audio output. Upon
turning BAL up to 100% on my radio, I was able to confirm the rise in scope
"grass", but did not hear any increase in audible noise.

Ah, thanks for the info! I will try that. I don't have auto-notch on, but I
do use NR.

Just one point though........... It seemed to be exactly the same effect as
noted by Ed K1EP, but there must be something different happening.
