Hi George,
The radio is labelled correctly; the IC-756Pro user manual had the RX-ANT
and transverter jacks reversed. This misprint was not corrected until the
2nd edition of the IC-756Pro2 user manual.
Dave G4GED, have you tried switching the cable to the "other" jack? If that
is all it was, I am sorry I gave you so much work. I "assumed" you followed
the label when wiring up, rather than the manual.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

A friend of mine had the same deaf problem with his 756Pro. We ordered the
fuse and I proceededto take his rig apart to install the new one. I had the
PC board completely out and to my suprise what did I find, THE TRANSVERTER
AND REC ANT was reversed on the PC board. There was no way that this could
be corrected because the PC board is etched as such.
We put it back together without replacing the fuse and "wow" it worked with
the receive antenna in the transverter jack.
His 756pro manual was WRONG.
He now plugs his 160M receiving antenna into the transverter jack, "per the
book pictures", and he is DX'in on 160 fine.
George
