Adam when you say deef are we talking completely dead on the receive
port?
The reason I'm asking is I just started using one of the new active
receive antennas from DX Engineering through the receive port on the
7800 and was taken aback by the reduced signal strength from that
antenna. I reason that if the 7800 has a fuse and it was open I wouldn't
hear anything. This is my first use of a receive antenna and I wasn't
expecting such a reduction of signal strength.

Hi Dave,
1/R and 2/R switch the receive RF signal path from ANT1 or ANT2 to the
RX-ANT input. If the input is still "a wee bit deef" (like auld Mrs.
McGregor), the RF fuse DS111 (Part No.HRS-4160A) on the RF UNIT board
may have gone open. (IC-756Pro Service Manual, p. 10-8).
You can download the IC-756Pro service manual from Marcucci, mods.dk or

Cheers for now, 73,

Subject: [ICOM] IC-756pro RX ANT switching
Hi all
Wonder if someone could tell me how to switch to receive from the RX
ANT port? I've been thro' the manual 2 or 3 times and cannot find a
proper instruction for this. The antenna function switch toggles 1, 2,
and if held down 1/R and 2/R but neither of these activate the RX ANT
port?
Many tnx in advanced
73 Dave
