[ICOM] IC -775DSP vs IC-756ProIII

Hello Vlad,
I had both rigs side-by-side for a certain period and did a lot of
A-B/comparisons.
It is very personal, but finally I sold the ProII and kept my IC-775DSP
which is my daily used rig now. I also use the IC-7400 (= IC-746Pro),
FT-1000D and FT-1000MP Mark-V Field.
Important to know is which kind of communication you do most. For SSB I
still prefer the high quality speech audio of the IC-775DSP, which IMHO
is the same as the excellent audio from the FT-1000D.
In the IC-775DSP I use the FL-96 in combination with the FL-70
IF-filters. Both filters are 2800 Hz and give a significantly high audio
quality for RX as well as for TX! For more selectivity I use the Icom
FL-223 (1.9 kHz) and the Inrad #314 (2.1 kHz) IF-filters. For extra
selectivity (e.g. during pile-ups and other heavy band conditions) I use
the DSP of the IC-775DSP.
I would advise you to do this: save some money the coming months and buy
yourself a IC-756ProII, but in heaven's name K-E-E-P your IC-775DSP! I
am very afraid you will regret it when you sell him...
I too ordered the Inrad Roofing Filter for the IC-775DSP and hope to
receive him end of this month.
Good luck and all the best!
