[ICOM] ICOM 706MKIIG CW Note

Critical ears might say that all IC-706's sound that way.

That is one way I identify a 706. That "almost a chirp" sound on CW.

I have never heard one that didn't sound that way. At first I thought it
was the full break in, but having the operator change to VOX didn't change
the sound (note) one bit.

After a few moments, though, I get used to the 706 sound and it doesn't
bother me anymore. It doesn't sound as good as most other ICOMs on CW but
it doesn't sound that bad either.

Subject: [ICOM] ICOM 706MKIIG CW Note

I am suddenly getting reports that my ICOM 706MKIIG is producing a "mushy"
CW note almost to the point of a chirp.

Anyone have any experience with this, I have eliminated the power supply as
the culprit by swapping out another 706MKIIG.

Thanks and 73,

Bert W1DFU
