Anders,
Thank you for the post on this subject. I have been trying to make this
determination on my IC-775DSP and this is the first I had known about the
different boards. My radio is just above 2000 in serial number. Icom America
while very courteous in my call to them could not tell me when, or if, a
correction had been made for this problem in production. (Perhaps they
should read www.mods.dk from time to time.) At least now there is something
to look for!!
The fact that the modified boards are not apparently installed in any
particular serial number order is kind of disturbing. What might explain it,
however, is a radio that had been repaired in the field from older service
parts. However, that does not explain getting an older board in a new radio.
While this is troubling, it is a great radio and worth (at least to me) some
of these uncertainties!
