Hi fellas:
I have a great logging software that just got better
(incorporated MMVARI engine) it is called Logger32 it is
freeware and works great.
I need an answer to this question before I send an email
to the group that does the logging software telling them
there may be a bug.
Here is my question:
Does anyone know if the USB-D or LSB-D are real modes to
the radio's CIV commands, or are just a way of getting to
a special memory setting?
When I had my FT-920 it had a similar mode for digital
stuff and it worked fine with this same software.
But the IC-756PRO does the following:
In the logging software, in a table, I define frequency
spreads for the modes of the radio.
In other words I set up the parameters in a table that the
software reads so it can send commands to CIV when I click
on a spot in the Telnet window, according to frequency
spread and mode associated with that frequency spread.
By doing so, I tell the software "if I click on a spot in
the telnet window that is between 14.079.00 and 14.088.00
(14.080.00) you automatically tell the radio (IC-756PRO)
to go to that frequency and also switch automatically to
the RTTY mode.
It will do this perfectly with RTTY and it also does the
same with all other modes CW, FM, USB, LSB, ect
But if I define "DATA-USB" or "DATA-LSB" (which are the
two choices for PSK, HELL, ect) as one of the modes the
software sends the command to the radio but the radio goes
to USB or LSB, not to USB-D or LSB-D.
Therefore I am thinking that perhaps LSB-D/USB-D are not
real modes that the CIV knows about.
I would like to the able to use the special filters and so
forth that USB-D and LSB-D offer when I go to Digital
soundcard modes.

Code may be taking a back seat for now,
but the pioneering spirit that put the code
there in the first place is out front of it all.
