[ICOM] Icom 756PRO receiver performance question

I have just purchased an Icom 756PRO, which is supposed to be delivered Thursday!  Can't wait until it gets here.  I have had an Icom 756 original (756AMATEUR?) in the past and really liked it, and understand that the PRO is a big step up.

Now here is my question, how do others find the receiver performance on the 756PRO?  In the QST review, the ARRL ran their fairly meaningless 20khz spacing receiver tests, and stated that it was not about to unseat the 781 or 775 as a top of the line competition radio.  However, if you look at Rob Sherwood's website (www.sherweng.com) where he gives the 5khz and 2khz IMD dynamic range test (much more appropriate to contesting and DXing) its numbers look really good-better than the FT1000D or FT1000MP series, and right up there with almost everything else except for the Orion.  

So where does the truth lie in the receiver performance of the 756PRO?
