Mac, remove your low pass filter from the back of the radio or amplifier.
6M id a dead short (RF) at 50MHZ.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-746 High Indicated SWR on 6 Meters

For some reason, the SWR function (and attendant
PA fold-back) seems to be wacko on my IC-746. I
first thought I had an antenna problem, but that
proved not to be the case. I have checked reflected
at ends of coax attached to antenna, the jumper to
an entry patch panel, jumper from that panel to a
coax antenna switch inside, coax from that switch
to the connector going to the transceiver, and ALL
show VERY low reflected power.

When trying to transmit, SWR bar-graph on the 746
shows maximum.

Anybody have an idea or two as to possible cause?
The setup had previously worked just fine.

TIA & 73,

Mac, K2GKK/5
