Hi Hart,
The IC-746Pro has a more powerful DSP, running at 36 kHz vs. 16.5 kHz in the
IC-7000. The 7000 performs surprisingly well, though. I evaluated the 7000
last November; here is my report.

If your primary interest is fixed-station rather than mobile operation, I
would recommend the IC-746Pro.
The IC-746Pro has bass and treble transmit audio equalisation and receive
audio tone controls, which are lacking in the IC-7000. The IC-7000 has dual
tuneable notch filters and more comprehensive TTY features than the 746Pro
(spectral and waterfall displays.) The IC-7000 noise blanker is implemented
in the DSP.
The IC-746Pro has a single tuneable notch filter. It also has a built-in
autotuner, which the IC-7000 does not.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

what is the difference between these two rigs in DSP performance wise?
Thanks
