True!
I have a few stations around using those radios and they have problems with
Imd on tx, carrier out on SSB, splatter and bad modulation.
Many bells and many bands may be appealing but you are only QRV on one band
anyway. At least on RX ;)

Well you probably will have more luck checking on a Yaesu reflector! In any
case, I believe you mean
the 857D and 897D. Neither will compare to what you have.
