I've got the same problem with my 746PRO. It is the mic connector on the  
radio. Check to see if the connector is loose or has been loose and has broken a  
wire on the inside of the connector , which has a little circuit board on it. 
 When I dis-connected the collar from touching the radio part of the 
connector,  everything is great !! The problem is the radio mic connector. Willy K3VW
