[ICOM] Icom 756 PROII Sudden Loss of Power on 10 meters

It may not be relevant to the ICOM but I had a TS120 back when and it did
this. The receive was fine but I could not transmit. It used edge
connector boards and reseating them fixed the problem and it never came
back. I'm sure that ICOM does not use edge connectors today. Point is the
receive was fine. I was "told" it was going into oscillation.

Subject: [ICOM] Icom 756 PROII Sudden Loss of Power on 10 meters

My ICOM 756 PROII will suddenly lose power on 10 meters whether into low SWR
antenna or my 50 ohm input Alpha amp. The rig's ALC will peg and I will
observe very high reflected power on the AMP's Reverse power LED meter.

Then it will behave great for a minute or so and then act up. I have ruled
out amp rig interaction. The high SWR makes me think the ICOM is going into
a parasitic oscillation. Yet, it appears to continue to receive correctly
on freq. so that seems to rule out the PLL.

It must be something on the hairy edge of adjustment. Any ideas at all
where to even begin looking. Never seen on any band but 10 meters.

Pse send your ideas to edberkowitz AT sbcglobal.net
