[ICOM] IC-775 RX antenna

Icom was known for this loop dating back as far as the 740, I think.

I had one. It facilitated a receive antenna the following way: the signal
path for an RX signal normally goes in through the main SO239 antenna
connector, through the T/R relay and out to one of these jacks, through the
loop into the other jack and then on in to the first RX stage. With the loop
in place, RX and TX both happen through the SO239.

You could plug in your RX antenna to RX ANT IN, I believe.

I don't recall if there was any overload protection (in case the beverage,
K9AY, pennant or other RX antenna got a major dose of RF from the TX
antenna), so a protection circuit such as a Burghardt BEV-1 or other such
device may be a good idea.

With the 756 and newer models, RX ant in is a separate jack and switching is
via a menu.
