[ICOM] 746PRO in the mobile and production SN vs date

Hi Folks!
Assuming that one has the room (I do in my Ford E-350XLT), would it be
reasonable to install my IC-746PRO in my van?  I have a FT-897D but I would
prefer the better performance and bigger screen.
Any thoughts about heat and cold?

Also, does anyone have a mapping of SNs to production dates for these rigs?
