I use the Diamond SHR519 and it works great. The lenght is the same as the original IC-2A/E antenna.

Subject: [ICOM] Good aftermarket HT antennas

> Does anyone on the list have a recommendation for a good aftermarket HT antenna to use. I have an Icom T81A and am looking for a good performing 2/440 antenna for it. I am not interested in anything longer than 10 inches or so due to practical considerations. I am looking for 1 antenna around 5-8 inches for regular use, and a second "mini antenna" around 1-2 inches for close in work, which I need to minimize the size of the HT and antenna package. Here are some antennas I am looking at:
>
> Full sized
> Comet SMA503, SMA3, SMA703 (with 1.2G)
> Diamond SHR519
> Maldol MH-511 with 6 meters
> MFJ 1713S, 1716S
> Pryme RD9SMA
>
> Mini antennas
> Comet SMA501
> Diamond SRH805 with 1.2g
> Maldol AS-25
> Pryme RD2SMA
> MFJ 1719S
