Hi Bruce,

This is what I had observed but I was hearing white noise with the '751a 
rather than with the '756.  It could be differences between radios, or in our 
individual hearing peceptions.  Certainly I'm happy that you found radios which 
work for you and I found one or two which work for me.  Alternatives are great 
to have!  

If you recall, did you notice the '756 white noise with internal speaker, 
external speaker or headphones?  (Or all 3?)  Noise blanker on or off?
