Hi Mike,
Being the first one to respond to my message, I thought I'll check all your
questions. I switched on the rig and again, I checked all lamps, switches
and settings and I turned all the controls/pots/switches back and forth a
few times. When turning the AF/volume back and forth a couple of times the
rig came to life again!!! Voila!! I have no idea what the problem was.
Can any one can shed some light on what might have happened? Bad connection,
cold soldering, ??? I'll keep you posted if this happens again.
Thank you all for responding to my message.

Well, you didn't specify if the TX or RX lamps were lit. Soooo...
Is the manual TX switch engaged? Is the MIC PTT button stuck or locked on?
Is VOX on with high-gain, sticking it in TX?
Did somebody crank the RF-gain or Squelch knobs around?
Just my first thoughts.
