Is there a "dual watch" capability on that rig?
That is a common system in Marine radios so
that you can listen on a normal frequency
but the radio will switch every few seconds
to the emergency frequency.

Subject: [ICOM] question on IC 208
Date: Fri, 9 Sep 2005 02:50:01 -0000
I recently put a 208 in my car. I programmed about 7 repeaters in that are
in the area, most vhf, but a couple of uhf. I've noticed that when a signal
does come on, approximaely ever 5 seconds, the receive drops out, and comes
right back on. I'm sure I must have something setup wrong for it to do that,
as it is very consistent when this happens. I read the manual, but I'm
missing it.
Also, does Icom have the problem fixed with the IC 746 Pro with transmit
failures? I had an orginal 746 and should have kept it. It did have an swr
foldback problem in my opinion. A 1.5:1 SWR and it was down to 50 watts out.
Thanks....
