Hi Everyone,

I have a very special IC-765 and am considering selling it to make space for
other adventures. Here's a chance if you want one of the finest 765's
available at this time anywhere.

The 765 is serial #5291, which makes it one of the last 50 to reach the U.S.
Purchased new 1996, I am the second owner having purchased it from a well
know ICOM collector off of this list in May 2004. It is cosmetically
immaculate.

It has no more than 150 hours use. It has the CR-282 hi-stability xtal osc,
UT-36 voice synthesizer, and INRAD 1.8 kHz SSB filter installed, plus new,
never-installed UT-30 tone encoder.

It has the following major mods:

1. Replacement of all problem trimmers/electrolytics in the PLL as
recommended by ICOM

2. Passband tuning mod

3. Improved QSK.

4. IF gain adjusted for best possible noise floor.

5. Speech processor adjusted for minimum distortion.

6. INRAD 2.8 Filters replace the ICOM FL-30 and FL-96 on SSB. The
FL-96 will be included and an FL-70 also included as spares.

All functions and controls checked and it was aligned (by Scott Malcolm,
former ICOM tech and proprietor of Malcolm Technical Support) in Spring
2004.

I have personally tested this radio against a ProII, 775, and Omni V.9 in my
shack. The 765 is as or more sensitive than any of those other radios on
all bands. It has a better noise floor than any of those other radios, the
best I have encountered in any radio to date. Eerily quiet. A superior
receiver.

The radio comes with original manual; AC cable; and original boxes/packing.
The radio also comes with an ICOM-produced copy of the service manual.

There is nothing more to do to have perhaps the best 765 you'll ever see at
this point in time. It is a true collector/competition quality transceiver.
A rare find for the discriminating 765 fan.

$1,695 + shipping. No trades.

Please e-mail me off list with your interest or questions.
