I'll bet you've got RF getting back into the radio.

Subject: [ICOM] Keying Problem IC-718

Does anyone have problems keying the ICOM 718. I use mine as a spare to
backup my ICOM 746. From time to time I like to use the 718 for CW to be

sure
it's working correctly. Usually, it isn't.

It seems OK at first, but after about 10 seconds of sending, they keying

seems to jam. When it
reaches that state, the characters get very slow. Soon, I lose control
of
the keying in the rig, and it just freezes in the send position. I have
turn
the
radio off to stop transmitting.

Anybody seen that before?
